70 Years Of Experience In Marine Industry
CC Marine (Charlies Custom Marine) Has over 70 years of combined Experience in the marine industry. Experience that ranges from Boat Manufacturing, Boat restoration, boat repair, structural fiberglass and Gelcoat reconditioning to full on paint jobs. I, Charlie Barthelmes, Owner and operator, have been in the Marine industry for over 24 years. It started back in 1995 for me at Spectre Power boats in Clearwater FL sweeping the floors. Then learning every job in the plant the next 5 years. By 2003 becoming plant manager at the age of 27. Then in 2007 moved to Anderson SC to run Famous Craft Boats. The industry hit bad times and that combined with the owner wanting to pursue new ventures Famous Craft closed in 2010. I then started Charlies Custom Marine in Pendleton SC. Five years ago purchasing a piece of property with two buildings on it and shortening the name to CC Marine.
Ken Whitehouse my main guy/partner started in the marine industry way back in 1979 with Chris Craft and Donzi down in Sarasota FL. He has done everything from plug and mold building to lamination supervisor. Running many plants along the way. He also has built many large one off hand lofted fishing machines. One of his higher profile clients was pro golfer Jack Nicklaus. He also moved up here shortly after I did to run the lamination dept at Famous Craft for me. He has been instrumental in the training of our two other main guys here at CC Marine.
Anthony Hughes 8 years’ experience started with CC Marine back in Pendleton in 2011. Since his first days till today he has gained the skills to repair anything from a small scratch or chip all the way to large structural damage. His finish/body work is what helps CC Marine be so successful. He is a dependable part of our team only missing time occasionally to most likely hunt. Daniel started in 2014 and is also a very dependable part of our team. He only misses work occasionally usually due to a music concert. Daniel is very skilled in gel coat reconditioning and detail oriented jobs. The skills and knowledge we all have together as a team make up CC Marine and the quality work we put out.
